Cage matches draw thousands to Forum

A score of 20-somethings from Dublin filled a section of bleachers at The Forum on Saturday, part of a cheerfully rowdy crowd in town to see The Battle of Rome.

The series of mixed martial arts cage matches featured professional combat fighters and amateurs — including locals Shawn Harris and Robi “Rick James” Ramey.

“It’s no holds barred,” said Cory Nestlehutt, a co-owner with Ramey of event sponsor Beat Down Productions. “The only difference is, amateurs do three 4-minute rounds and professionals do three 5-minute rounds.”
