Hollett in high-profile bout

MIXED MARTIAL ARTS - Roger Hollett's first three professional mixed martial arts fights have all been in comfortable surroundings - or at least as comfortable as a ring fenced with steel can get.

At that will change Saturday night, when he takes his unblemished 3-0 record on the road to meet Edmonton Eskimos fullback Mike (The Wolverine) Maurer at the Shaw Convention Centre in Edmonton.

The fight is a departure in more ways than one for the 28-year-old Fairview resident.

He's received plenty of hometown support in his bouts, all at the Halifax Forum before friends and family.

While Hollett has a crew of between 15 and 20 people heading out with him, there's no doubting whom the crowd will root for.
