UFC launches UK Web site

To bolster its expansion efforts overseas in the United Kingdom, the UFC has created a dedicated microsite for British fans.

With UFC 70 planned for April 21 at the Manchester Evening News Arena (M.E.N.) in Manchester, England, as well as the increasing effort to sign European talent, offering a dedicated site is a logical next step.

Don’t forget, the UFC also recently announced the creation of a new UK division.

As for the site, it appears to be stripped down version of UFC.com. The Ultimate Fighter season three light heavyweight champion — and pride of Lancashire, England — Michael Bisping is prominently featured on the homepage.

Again, the site is pretty much bare bones. But, it does have a television schedule for UFC programming in England, as well as some other features designed just for British fans.

This is not the first time the UFC has targeted a Web site for a new demographic. UFC Espanol translates UFC.com for Spanish-speaking readers.
