CRO COP MANCHESTER-BOUND

It appears Zuffa LLC. is ready to cash in on its sizable investment with Mirko “Cro Cop” Filipovic. On the heels of his much awaited debut at this past Saturday’s UFC 67 in Las Vegas, UFC president Dana White confirmed with The Fight Network’s Loretta Hunt that the Croatian power striker will fight in April in Manchester, England.

Though not announced, the yet-to-be-named card will take place at the Manchester Evening News Arena on April 21. White said the promotion is still selecting Cro Cop’s next opponent. Filipovic took out previously undefeated Eddie Sanchez handily with a first round TKO on Saturday. April 21’s event will be the UFC’s first return to England since its July 2002 debut with UFC 38 “Brawl at the Hall,” in London, England.
