KING OF THE CAGE: CAPITAL CHAOS

OTTAWA, ONTARIO/CALGARY, ALBERTA – On the heals of its sell out debut show in eastern Canada, King of the Cage Canada is pleased to announce that on March 28, 2007 fans will get to experience KOTC live once again! “Seeing that the January show sold out, we felt it made sense to move to the larger venue. The Ottawa/Hull market has been great to my productions since I came to the market in 2005 but I saw a whole new level of support now that I have partnered with a global brand like KOTC. Personally I have never felt better going into an event!” says an ecstatic Pete Rodley of Freedom Fight Productions/King of the Cage Canada.

ARE YOU READY FOR THE RETURN OF THE CAGE?

KOTC CANADA CEO Ken Kupsch continues “Nothing can make a show more successful than the enthusiasm of the crowd. The people of Gatineau surpassed all expectations. It was a pleasure working with Pete Rodley, without him, this would not have been possible. We appreciate all the fan support as we continue to bring live events to Eastern Canada.”

The stage will be set in Hull, Quebec’s Robert Guertin Arena. Just minutes from Ottawa’s downtown core, Hull was host to the debut of THE CAGE and nearly 2000 fans got their first taste of the KOTC experience. A bunch of fans were turned away at the door and every fan in attendance was asking for more by the end of the night.

ON MARCH 28 THE CAGE RETURNS!

Representatives from BRUCKMANN MMA, TEAM RONIN, FRANCO-BEHRING BJJ, SUDBURY BJJ, INFESTED WATERS, FIT MMA, NOVA UNIAO, CHAMPION FIGHT CLUB are all ready to enter the cage with hopes of climbing the KOTC ladder. Some of the most popular athletes from KOTC: FREEDOM FIGHT 2007 return, the debut of some new exciting MMA warriors and the KOTC title scene takes shape!

CANADAS PRODIGY TAKES THE NEXT STEP

Mark Bocek Vs Jake Short (155 lbs)

In being every promoters dream, Mark Bocek has quickly become every promoter’s nightmare because after only 3 pro MMA fights, he has become a fighter that other Canadian 155 pound athletes will not face. “Ken and I have gone through our phone books from coast to coast with the same reply. It was obvious to us that Mr. Bocek has already bypassed the Canadian level and will compete at the KOTC world level. On January 20th he faced a top ranked John Mahlow, a fighter with tons of experience who took Mac Danzig to the limit, and Bocek made victory look easy in there. “Turns out the task to find Mark a worthy opponent was only a phone call away when Detroit’s Jake Short was approached. With wins over such notables as UFC TUF vet Melvin Guillard and Forrest Petz, Jake has impressed many MMA insiders while earning a 10-7 pro MMA record. Jake is looking to climb his way up to a KOTC 155 title shot and see’s a win over the highly touted Bocek as the ideal way to achieve just that!

WHO IS NEXT IN LINE AT 170 LBS?

TJ Grant VS. Elmer Waterhen (170 lbs)

At KOTC: Freedom Fight 2007 TJ Grant completely dominated the then undefeated Nick Portieous improving his Pro MMA record to 5-0. With this performance he solidified his place in the KOTC 170 pound rankings. Known for his vicious slams, aggressive stand up strikes and efficient ground game, TJ is now ready to start looking at a KOTC title opportunity. In central Canada, Elmer Waterhen has built himself quite the reputation as a crafty scrapper while racking up a solid 4-2 pro MMA record. On March 28 these two warriors will battle it out to determine who is next in line for a shot at the KOTC 170 Canadian title.

YOUR FAVORITE KOTC FIGHTERS RETURN

THE ANIMAL VS. THE MONSTER

John THE ANIMAL Cole VS. Jason THE MONSTER Bissonnette (205 lbs)

It took only 22 seconds for John Cole to take care of business in his KOTC debut and silence the critics who felt that his karate background would not benefit him in the cage. He returns to take on RONIN MMA newcomer Jason Bissonnette. The MONSTER was scheduled to make his KOTC debut at FREEDOM FIGHT 2007 however when his opponent failed to show up for the fight, he was temporarily sidelined. Now he gets his chance in this LHW clash.

THE NINJA OF LOVE VS. THE PITBULL

Nick NINJA OF LOVE Denis VS. Chris THE PITBULL Myra (145 lbs)

At Januarys KOTC event RONIN MMA fighter Nick Denis beat his opponent at his own game with an impressive arm bar victory in the first round. Earning acknowledgement in local media such as THE OTTAW SUN, Denis is looking to climb the KOTC 145 pound ranks. In his way is a freestyle fighter from the Petewawa Military base named Chris THE PITBULL Myra. Myra brings vast combat experience and ferocity to the cage and feels he has what it takes to end the Ninjas winning streak.

LOCAL FAVORITE SET TO ENDURE A DOG BITE

Stephane Lamarche VS. CUJO White (170 lbs)

RONIN MMA fighter Stephane Lamarche entered the cage at KOTC: FREEDOM FIGHT 2007 where he slammed and powered his way to victory over the tough Garrett Venroy. Continuing his undefeated record the Ottawa native immediately called to see who is next in line for him. Oneida warrior CUJO White amazed everyone who witnessed his brutal display at the MMA bouts which occurred on the Oneida reserve last December. Despite a 40 pound weight difference CUJO left his opponent unconscious in the middle of the cage. Both are looking to remain undefeated and work their way closer to title contention but only one will advance.

A SOLID UNDERCARD OF KOTC ATHLETES

The return of Barry MACKDADDY FLEXX McDonald (150 lbs)

The long awaited debut of Mackdaddy Flexx was cut short by Sudbury fighter Derek Giroux but McDonald immediately called for a shot against another striker who will stand and bang with him. Look for fireworks when the eccentric one re enters the cage to face super striker Jesse James Green!!

Jean Marc THE SHARK Lalonde VS. Paul Ebejer (155 lbs)

In what was arguably the fight of the night at FREEDOM FIGHT 2007, Brett Portieous made a triumphant debut with a TKO win over the highly touted Jean Marc Lalonde. Unfortunately Brett is not available to compete until the next KOTC event however the18 year old SHARK is ready willing and able to enter the cage once again to entertain his fans. He faces Toronto striker Paul Ebejer.

The long awaited MMA debut of Eric Muir (170 lbs)

For quite some time there have been rumblings of this “crazy aggressive fighter who could pass as a twin of Hollywood Star Vin Diesel”. Our offices were told of a new Bruckmann MMA/ Franco Behring fighter who is destined to dominate the 170 pound weight class and finally, on March 28, we will have the opportunity to see for ourselves. He faces a knock out artist named Topper Greene.
