Lawler could face Trigg for title in April

Robbie Lawler has a fight coming up this weekend for Icon Sport that could earn him a shot at reclaiming the Middleweight title from Frank Trigg.

"If Robbie Lawler earns a victory over Trevor Garrett on February 9th, Lawler will fight Frank Trigg on April 7th for the Icon Middleweight Title," said Patrick Freitas, Director of Promotions.

Lawler's opponent Trevor Garrett won't get the same treatment.

"Should Garrett win, it would not automatically guarantee him an immediate shot at the title. However, Garrett will be considered, along with Mayhem Miller and Charuto Verissimo, depending on the outcome of their pending Icon bouts," Freitas explained to MMAFighting.com.
