Long ready for women's MMA showcase

On Friday night, an all women’s mixed martial arts event dubbed “Fatal Femmes Fighting” comes to the Japan America Theater in Los Angeles. Sanctioned by the California State Athletic Commission, the show is being billed as the first all-female MMA event to utilize a cage.

There will be three USA vs. Japan-themed fights on the card featuring veterans from the Japan-based Smackgirl. The rest of the card is made up of new and relatively new fighters. One of the ladies making her first step inside the cage will be Rebecca Ryan Long.

Long, a graduate with a double Master's Degree in Clinical Psychology and Biotech Engineering, began her mixed martial arts training at No Limits Fighting Sports and Fitness out of Irvine, CA before ending up at the Joker’s Wild Fighting Academy in Lake Forest, CA.
