Martial arts movie star to open Mansfield Academy

THE 13-times world martial arts champion turned movie actress Zara Phythian will be opening a new International Martial Arts fitness academy in Mansfield on Saturday.

Zara recently became the only British martial artist to receive the same Hall of Fame induction as legends such Bruce Lee and Chuck Norris. Now she is bringing her renowned award winning coaching skills to Mansfield with cutting edge programmes for children and adults through her new Personal Best Academy.

Along with her team of national instructors, the academy will provide international award winning curriculum such as the four to seven years unique 'Lil Dragons' children's development programme.

And there's even the opportunity to break into the action movie industry as the academy is registered with the world stunt association of Independent films as the UK's National movie screen fighter training centre.

The academy has Sport Karate, Kickboxing Fitness and Mixed Martial Arts and is fully equipped with two matted studios, training ring, bags, and even mannequin bags.

The centre is holding a special open day event with exclusive membership discounts and demonstrations, on Saturday from noon until 3pm.

Guests include renowned martial art masters from all over the nation plus movie stunt actors along with media coverage such as Martial Arts TV and Combat magazine.

The Personal Best Academy is situated at Unit A1, Intake Business Centre, Kirkland Avenue, Mansfield.

Zara invites everyone to come along to the opening event at noon and take advantage of some of the exclusive offers she has on the day such as 20 per cent off regular tuition fees for a year plus free membership.

Zara, dubbed in the film industry as the UK's 'Powerful Princess of the Martial Arts', will be teaching at the academy as well as continuing her rise in films with three new projects planned for this year -
The Game, Black Salt and Sim Card, while her latest movie, Underground, is hoped to reach the UK video stores by early summer.

If you would like more details of the open day or programmes available at the academy, please call the Personal Best team on - 01623 656890.
