Chris “Lights Out” Lytle will fight Matt Hughes in a feature matchup at UFC 68: The Uprising, live from the Nationwide Arena in Columbus , Ohio on Saturday, March 3, 2007, while Martin “Hitman” Kampmann meets up with Drew McFedries in the swing bout.

Both fights will be shown live on the pay-per-view broadcast, with Tim Sylvia defending his UFC heavyweight title against former champion Randy Couture in the main event.

Lytle (22-13-5 pro MMA record), from Indianapolis , Indiana , is coming off a controversial split decision loss to Matt Serra in the welterweight finals of The Ultimate Fighter 4. In fights that were televised on Spike TV leading up to his appearance in the finale of TUF, Lytle defeated Pete Spratt for the second time in his career, and he also beat Din Thomas by decision to reach the finals.

Hughes (40-5), from Hillsboro, Illinois, is the former UFC welterweight champion, and he will be making his return to the Octagon after dropping the title in his last fight to Georges St. Pierre at UFC 65. Hughes holds wins over such notables as B.J. Penn (in the rematch), Royce Gracie, Frank Trigg (twice), Sean Sherk, Joe Riggs and Carlos Newton (twice).

Kampmann (14-2), from Denmark, is now 2-0 in the Octagon after defeating then-undefeated Thales Leites by unanimous decision on the undercard of The Ultimate Fighter 4 Finale, a fight that was televised on Spike TV and was honored by the UFC as “Fight of the Night.” Kampmann, who is on a seven-fight winning streak, had previously defeated Crafton Wallace in his UFC debut by rear-naked choke in the first round at Ultimate Fight Night 6.

McFedries (5-1), from Bettendorf , Iowa , is on a five-fight winning streak and is coming off a first-round TKO win over Alessio Sakara at UFC 65.
