NSAC issues PRIDE 33 medical suspensions

The Nevada State Athletic Commission has suspended Nick Diaz until Aug. 24 due to suffering a right orbital floor fracture in his fight against Takanori Gomi. If Diaz is cleared by a doctor, he will be allowed to fight beginning Apr. 26. This makes May 20 the earliest date for a potential Diaz-Gomi rematch, on the opening round of the 2007 PRIDE Lightweight Grand Prix.

PRIDE Welterweight and Middleweight champion Dan Henderson broke his right hand and is medically suspended until Aug. 24. If cleared by a doctor, he is allowed to fight beginning Apr. 11.

Mac Danzig has a possible broken left thumb. He is suspended until Aug. 24 unless he gets his thumb x-rayed and medically cleared. His suspension would then be shortened to Apr. 11.

Jason Ireland, Wanderlei Silva, Takanori Gomi, Alistair Overeem, and Antonio Rogerio Nogueira are suspended until Apr. 11.

Wiuff is suspended until Mar. 27.

Frank Trigg, Kazuo Misaki, James Lee, Rameau Thierry Sokoudjou, Hayato "Mach" Sakurai, Mike Russow, Sergei Kharitonov and Mauricio "Shogun" Rua walked away with no suspensions.
