ROY JONES JR. TO FACE ANTHONY HANSHAW ON JUNE 9TH

The Fight Network has learned that former middleweight, super middleweight, light heavyweight, and heavyweight world champion, Roy Jones Jr. (50-4, 38 KO’s) will make his ring return on June 9th, when he takes on rising super middleweight contender Anthony Hanshaw (21-0-1, 14 KO’s).

The fight, to be televised by Showtime, will be Jones’ first since his July 2006 unanimous decision over Prince Badi Ajamu.

A location for the fight has yet to be determined.

Hanshaw is coming off an impressive showing in the recent ShoBox Super Middleweight Tournament, where he went 2-0-1, decisioning Esteban Camou over ten rounds and
stopping Lafarrell Bunteng in three, before battling to a 12-round draw with Frenchman Jean Paul Mendy in the final this past January.

“I’ve known Anthony for a long time. He’s an excellent fighter, and I think he has a great shot,” Hanshaw’s promoter, Gary Shaw told The Fight Network.
