Lightweights Clash at Ultimate Fight Night

On Thursday, April 5th two of the fastest-rising lightweight fighters in mixed martial arts will face each other live on Spike TV.

Fighting in his hometown of Las Vegas, Nevada Joe “Daddy” Stevenson (31-7-0) has pounded his way through the lightweight division, defeating unorthodox striker and Jiu Jitsu expert Luke Cummo, highly-touted thug-Jitsu fighter Yves Edwards and the bane of ring announcers everywhere, Japanese MMA veteran Dokonjonosuke Mishima.

Melvin “The Young Assassin” Guillard (39-6-3) comes into the fight with an explosive combination of athleticism, experience and confidence. Although he comes from a wrestling background, Guillard has dominated his opponents with striking, scoring knock-outs over boxer Marcus Davis, submission expert Rick Davis and Gabe Ruediger, who he floored with a devastating punch to the body.

The winner of the fight could climb the rankings towards a shot at the lightweight title, currently held by wrestling powerhouse Sean Sherk.

The under-card includes a mixture of familiar faces and newcomers, featuring Kenny Florian, Drew Fickett and Rich Clementi.
