Jeff Monson to defend CWFC Heavyweight Title in the UK

Jeff "The Snowman" Monson is coming to the UK March 4 to make his third CWFC Heavyweight Title defense. The recent #1 contender for the UFC heavyweight belt will fight on the Cage Warriors: Showdown 3 card at the Wolverhampton Civic Hall.

Monson won the title in 2004 when he submitted Tengiz Tedoradze via rear naked choke. He gave Tedoradze a rematch in 2005 and submitted him again with a rear naked choke. Monson defended the title once more that year before heading to the UFC for four fights.

Monson's fight against Fedor Emelianenko for the Bodog promotion has been scrapped. Matt Lindland will face the PRIDE Heavyweight Champion April 6 in Russia.
