Underdog role fine with TUF champion Lutter



This one could be over in a hurry. Travis Lutter agrees.

The outcome the Fort Worth fighter expects, however, is in sharp contrast to what many mixed martial arts fans predict when he faces Anderson Silva for the UFC middleweight title Saturday in Las Vegas.

"I don't see this fight going that long. I'm going to go in there, take him down and beat him up," said Lutter in a matter-of-fact tone that belies his confidence. "I don't like to fight that long. Hopefully, we'll get him out of there in two rounds."

When this fight was first announced, it had mismatch written all over it. Silva (17-4) ripped through his first two UFC opponents in sensational fashion. The 31-year-old Brazilian knocked out Chris Leben in 49 seconds in June and became middleweight champion with a one-round TKO demolition of Rich Franklin four months later at UFC 64.
