ABSENT CRO COP STILL THE STAR FOR SAT. UFC 67 SHOWDOWN

LAS VEGAS, Feb. 1 --- Though Croatian power striker Mirko “Cro Cop” Filipovic was nowhere in sight, he was undoubtedly a heavy topic of conversation at a pre-fight press conference hosted by Zuffa LLC. today to promote this Saturday’s UFC 67 “All or Nothing” event at the Mandalay Bay Events Center.

UFC president Dana White spoke of his booming promotion’s recent acquisition of the 2006 PRIDE Open-Weight Champion as a direct result of both his company’s and the sport’s maturation in the United States.

“The reason it took so long [to get internationally-ranked talent] was because the UFC was dead, the sport was dead,” White passionately explained. “Now the U.S. is ready.”
