CAGE RAGE CHAMP IMANARI CHALLENGED BY REMEDIOS

A new Cage Rage World Featherweight Champion was crowned last Saturday when Japanese fighter Mazakazu Imanari (11-5-1), in a beautiful display of unorthodox stand up and groundwork, submitted England’s Robbie “The Flame” Olivier (13-7-1) with a slick armbar at just 27 seconds of the first round.

But before the submissions specialist could celebrate, he was confronted in the cage by British fighting legend Leigh “The British Brawler” Remedios (14-6-3), who offered to battle Imanari for his newly won title in a comeback bout.

“I’ll think about it,” was Imanari’s response.

“I don’t know anything about what future plans the Cage Rage promoters have for me,” Imanari said later through his translator Tomomi Sawabe. “But if PRIDE or another Japanese organization calls, I’ll prove I belong there. There are many rematches I would like to have.”
