THE FALL OF RANDLEMAN LEAVES HOPE FOR A RISE

By Loretta Hunt

Friday’s NSAC meeting was one of the most emotional ones I have ever been privy to. A desperate Kevin Randleman’s words were both moving and troubling, and resonated with me all weekend. At a time when athletic commissions are condemned for their actions more than praised, something very important happened on Friday. The Nevada State Athletic Commission took a stand for Kevin Randleman when he could not do so himself. With the revocation of Randleman’s license till Oct. 21, the very talented, but currently sickly wrestler will be given the opportunity to heal.

I know it’s not the most advantageous time for him or his family given the enticing paydays he could get, but I’d rather see a healthy Randleman grab MMA by its horns in eight months, than risk the greatest gift he has at this time – his life.
