Lampley facing jail?

The AP is reporting that HBO boxing announcer Jim Lampley is facing up to a year in jail and a $1,000 fine. The good news for Lampley is that after mulling over it for six weeks, the San Diego County District Attorney's Office has only filed a misdemeanor charge of violating a temporary restraining order against him. Lampley was originally booked for dissuading a witness and suspicion of domestic violence, in addition to the restraining order violation.

He was arrested in January when despite the restraining order he showed up at the Encinitas apartment of his fiance, 29-year-old Miss California USA 2003 Candice Sanders while authorities were present. Sanders claims the 57-year-old Lampley pushed her to the floor in a New York City restaurant late last year, then pushed her against a wall on New Year's Eve. Lampley, who has steadfastly maintained his innocence, is scheduled for a court appearance on March 13, just four days prior to the working HBO-PPV's big March 17 Barrera-Marquez telecast.
