UK cash heist suspect appears in Morocco court



RABAT (Reuters) - A champion kick boxer suspected of taking part in Britain's biggest cash robbery was charged in a Moroccan court on Wednesday with offences including beating police officers and drug possession.

Briton Lee Murray, who arrived in Morocco shortly after the 53 million pound armed hold-up of a Securitas cash depot in Kent, was arrested by Moroccan security forces with three British men in June.

British police have charged several others in connection with the February 2006 heist and prosecutors are seeking the extradition of Murray, who the media say competed as a cage fighter and appeared on television as Lee "Lightning" Murray.
