Zinoviev's Red Bears Ready for Action



When Russian fighting legend Igor Zinoviev was tapped by the IFL to assemble and coach his own team of fighters, he was ecstatic.

“It was like I had been asleep for a long time,” said the former Soviet Army commando. “Now I am awake again.”

But that euphoria couldn’t last forever.

Almost immediately, Zinoviev was faced with the daunting task of assembling a squad that could compete with the likes of the Silverbacks and Anacondas. That meant he needed solid fighters at each weight class, or else he risked being embarrassed over the course of their three regular season matches, the first of which takes place on February 23rd in Atlanta against Renzo Gracie’s Pitbulls.
