Art of War -- Inaugural Event Creates Fan Hysteria

DALLAS, TX -- (MARKET WIRE) -- March 12, 2007 -- SUN Sports & Entertainment Inc. (PINKSHEETS: SSPE) announced today that the Company's world premiere of the "Art of War" Undisputed Arena Fighting Championship, scored a "Knock Out" with its fans and sponsors.

The 10-fight card had barely started, but SUN Chairman/CEO C.J. Comu was already calling the event a success because of the crowd it had attracted.

SUN Sports & Entertainment Inc., the company that put together the "Art of War" submission fighting, bouts at the American Airlines Center (AAC) on Friday night.

The announced crowd of 6,722 came as good news to Comu, who said he hopes to bring another show to the city at the end of the year, preferably at the AAC. The Art of War will put on a show at the Austin Convention Center on May 11 and at the San Antonio Alamodome on June 30.

"I love the energy Dallas has for this sport," Comu said. "We want to build a fan base. I love the crowd. People think this attracts the young crowd, but you've got corporate people, major sponsors, fight fans, and a lot of pretty girls."

The knockout of the night belonged to Garland's Anthony Njokuani. A 6-0, 170-pounder, Njokuani improved to 7-0 when he caught Denmark's Kenneth Rosfort on the chin with a right cross at 2:12 of the first round. Rosfort fell face-first onto the canvas, where he stayed for a couple of minutes before being helped from the cage.

"It felt so good," said Njokuani. "I wanted to give it to the crowd, a standing knockout. My main goal was to catch him with this [right hand]."

Dallas' Alex Andrade, 5-11, 200 pounds, improved to 5-3 with a TKO of Sweden's Klas Akesson in the second round.

The biggest cheers of the night were reserved for Justin Wren, a former Bishop Lynch wrestler. A 6-4, 270-pounder, Wren received a rousing ovation before his fight with San Diego's Justin Howard, and Wren gave the people what they wanted. The fight was stopped in the second round, when Howard tapped out by strikes after being taken down to the canvas.

Wren, 19, said he will wrestle at Iowa State next season. "I'm a grappler, but I worked on a lot of stand-up for this fight," Wren said. "After the second round, my coaches said to stop messing around and pound him. Ground and pound -- that's my specialty."

Dallas' Tom East, 5-9, 170 pounds, had prepared for his fight with San Antonio's Brian Russel by doing a lot of stand-up boxing.

But when Russel hit East with a clean shot early in the first round, East changed his game plan and decided to ground fight. A few shots to Russel's stomach and head led to a first-round tap out.

In the main event, Brazilian Pedro Rizzo won the IFA World Heavyweight title by beating former Iowa State football player Justin Eilers in a three-round decision. Rizzo knocked Eilers down midway through the first round, and the two fought on the ground until the bell. The last two rounds were filled with action, as each fighter bloodied the other.
