MIGHTY MO CONFIDENT ABOUT HIS K-1 HERO'S DEBUT

By Scott Petersen

Siala “Mighty Mo” Siliga will make his K-1 Hero’s debut against Korea’s Min-Soo Kim on Monday in Japan. The heavy handed Siliga is wasting no time getting back into competition after knocking out Hong-Man Choi in a kickboxing fight just over one week ago.

Min-Soo Kim is an Olympic Silver Medalist in Judo and is coming off of a KO loss to UFC and Pride veteran Don Frye. Although the Judoka may seem like an easy opponent for “Mighty Mo," Kim’s Judo prowess and ground experience may pose as a problem for the K-1 striker.

"I’m also a natural grappler," explained Siliga. In addition to his boxing and kickboxing background, the K-1 veteran also has experience in wrestling.

With one career MMA fight under his belt, the former UAGF Heavyweight Champion looks to extend upon his initial success with a quick knock-out victory. "Oh yeah, most definitely. I can end the fight like in 10 seconds and crack him in the head and finish it. If I have to go to the ground, I’ll display some skills on the ground."

Kim’s track record against K-1 kickboxers hasn’t been very successful. In his first two MMA fights, the Judoka was knocked out by Bob Sapp and Ray Sefo. At K-1 Hero’s 6, Kim was submitted by 2006 and 2006 K-1 World Grand Prix Champion Semmy Schilt.

So, how will this fight end?

"First round knockout. Once I touch him with that right hand or left, it’s over," responded the Grand Prix Champion confidently. "When it comes to a real fight, Judo is not threatening."
