He won the vote for Ground & Pound's Most Improved Fighter 2006 in a landslide. Denis Kang, son of a Korean father and a French mother, had already made the jump from 50/50 fighter to superstar in a small league (Spirit MC in Korea) three years ago.

In 2006, his outstanding performance in the Bushido Grand Prix helped him break into the World Class. Even though he controversially lost the Final against local hero Kazuo Misaki on points, the 29-year-old American Top Team member was one of the most positive figures in the middleweight division this past year.
