COTE’S SECOND COMING

To Patrick Cote, his last appearance in the Octagon was the most disappointing performance of his career. After advancing to the season four finale of “The Ultimate Fighter – The Comeback,” the French-Canadian was submitted in the first round by Brazilian jiu-jitsu black belt Travis Lutter (11-3), dropping his UFC record to an uninspiring 2-4.

“The Comeback” was a vehicle meant to give a select group of UFC veterans a second chance in the promotion, and Cote (10-4) moved past Jorge Rivera (14-6) and Edwin Dewees (35-11) during the reality series’ run on Spike TV. That momentum could not be sustained against Lutter, however.
